Nicotine. How to get it, how to use it.

Australia is one of the very few countries in the world where it is illegal to sell nicotine over the counter. but it is legal to import and use personally. None of the eliquids we sell at Victory vape Australia contain nicotine, in compliance with Australian law.

You can now order your personal nicotine or nic salts herevia our Victory Vape New Zealand website

You cannot by law sell it or gift it to anyone but you may use it yourself and import it for personal use.

So you've recently purchased or are about to purchase a vape/vaporiser to use, and you are most likely looking to replace cigarettes with your new device.

This is where it can get a little tricky for new vapers!
How much nicotine is the right amount and what kind of nicotine depends on the type of vape you have and your personal tolerances.

There are a few different styles of vapes we will break them down into 3 categories

"Pods" These small and discrete vapes are extremely common for new vapers and vaping veterans alike.

"MTL" (Mouth To Lung) These kits are larger than pods but have very similar functionality but with much larger battery and juice capacity. these devices typically run at 5W-30W of power.

"DTL" (Direct To Lung) These are the larger style of vape more commonly seen, characterised by larger plumes of vapour and a smooth draw and big flavour. typically run at 30W-150W of power.
With the largest battery and juice capacity they are commonly used as most peoples "All Day Vape".

Knowing what style of device you have is important in choosing the level of nicotine to start with as it can vary dramatically.

There are 2 types of nicotine used today, "Normal" or freebase nicotine and "Salt" nicotine, salt nicotine comes in liquid form, just the same as freebase, but is much smoother and used to achieve higher nic levels without becoming to harsh.

Typically we recommend "salt nic" for pod styled devices and "MTL" devices and "standard or freebase nic" for DTL styled devices.

So now we know what kind of device you are using and what kind of nicotine to use. Next is to choose how much nicotine to use, lets start with "Pods" and "MTL"

Typically anywhere between 12mg-35mg is used depending on how strong the device is. If you are unsure. we recommend start at 18mg and decide if you'd like to increase the dose after using for a few hours. the more nicotine you add the more intense the "throat hit" becomes, adding to much can result in the device becoming to harsh.

With "DTL" devices using standard nicotine a good starting place is 6mg, 90% of DTL users are using either 3mg or 6mg. the choice is yours and there are plenty of people choosing strengths at 4mg or 2mg as in these devices the difference 1mg can affect the throat hit quite a lot. Adding more nicotine isn't always the best answer to get a higher dose as adding more nicotine will increase the throat hit and lead to you taking shorter and fewer hits off your device.

Here we have a handy mixing chart, follow this very carefully. we only ever add nicotine to a bottle of E-liquid never directly into our devices.
handle with care, using gloves is recommended.
Store in a freezer, and keep it away from pets and Children as it is extremely toxic.
Ingestion of undiluted nicotine can lead to poisoning or death.

If you ever have questions about how to mix or handle nicotine safely please contact our shop and one of our trained staff will help you. You can use a non-sharp 1ml or 3ml syringe to measure accurately. Always add to the bottle of eliquid and shake well, never add concentrated nicotine directly into your tank or pod!
